Handy for writing to a limit
Whether you’re trimming a meta description to ~155 characters, hitting a word count for an article, or timing a script for a video, a live counter saves a lot of guesswork. Reading time assumes about 225 words per minute (a typical adult silent reading pace) and speaking time about 130 words per minute (a comfortable presentation pace).
How are words counted?
By splitting on whitespace, so hyphenated words count as one. It matches how most word processors count.
