To register a .com.au or .net.au, the auDA (Australian Domain Authority) requires the registrant to have an ABN, ACN or other recognised Australian connection. We help you check eligibility and complete the registration correctly.

FAQ

Common domain questions

Should I get .com.au or .com?
For an Australian-only audience, .com.au signals trust and is a slight SEO benefit locally. If you’d like to expand internationally one day, register both and forward one to the other.
What if I already own my domain elsewhere?
Two options: leave it where it is and we just manage the DNS settings, or transfer it across to Chill Domains where we manage it for you. Transfers usually take 2–7 days and don’t cause any downtime if done correctly.
Do you own my domain or do I?
You. Always. The domain is registered in your name with you as the legal owner - we’re just the technical contact. You can move it whenever you like.
What happens if I forget to renew?
If you let us know your renewal preference, we’ll handle it automatically and invoice you the at-cost renewal fee. We send reminders well in advance so there’s no surprise.
Can you set up a custom email like name@mybusiness.com.au?
Yes - either through our hosting (a few mailboxes included) or by connecting your domain to Google Workspace, Fastmail, or another cloud email provider you already use.
