Our Philosophy

Digital Greenhouse provides a professional I.T. service with a thoughtful approach to solving problems for our clients. I.T. is rarely straightforward - but we will never make it more complicated than it needs to be, and we will never play pricing tricks on you.

Web hosting

We have seen hosting sold for $2 for the first year, then $800 per year after that - a 39,900% renewal jump on the exact same product. In this specific case, the real market rate was $200 per year. It was better to just pay that fair price from the start. Sure, you can switch yourself - but it is distracting and a false economy. Every year you have a problem ticking away in the background - researching new hosting, migrating everything, and testing it all works before your current plan expires. That is not running your business. Or you can pay someone to do it for you. Wait - weren’t you trying to save money? Now you’re paying someone else??

Domain names

Some registrars will drop a “free” domain into your shopping cart without asking - then hit you with $100 per year to renew it. And it is not really free either: the moment you use it and build anything on it, you are committed to that renewal cost next year. It was never free. It was a hook.

I.T. is complicated in the real world. Things often take longer than expected, problems come up, and tidy plans soon go out the window once the real work starts. When problems arise, our job is to manage that properly: investigate the root cause of the issue, test our assumptions, solve each problem one at a time, and stubbornly persist towards a solution.

How we work

Workshops at a fixed price. AI workshops run as a half day or a full day for your whole team, in Copilot, Claude or ChatGPT, priced up front. See how the workshops run.
Hourly, transparent billing for everything else. $160/hr inc GST standard, $200/hr inc GST for RUSH jobs. Time is tracked in minutes and billed by the hour (pro-rata). We don’t pretend to know a fixed total before the work is underway - you pay for the time it honestly takes.
A proper first conversation. We start with a 30-minute call to work out whether we’re a good fit before quoting anything.
No lock-in. Your website code and domain stay yours. If we host your site, you will always have access to what you need if you ever want to leave, migrate, or move to another provider.
Sydney based, happy to travel. Most work is remote, but we can come to you for workshops or onsite I.T. setup if needed. For AI workshops, we’ll fly anywhere in Australia, New Zealand or internationally.

Common questions

Are you a registered Australian business?

Yes - Digital Greenhouse is a Sydney-based business with an Australian Business Number (ABN). We invoice in AUD and add GST where applicable.

Do you have a minimum engagement?

No project minimum. We bill by the hour with time tracked to the minute at the rates listed on our pricing page. Even small jobs (an hour of advice, a quick fix) are welcome.

Can you take over a website that someone else built?

Absolutely - this is one of the most common ways we start working with new clients. We’ll review what you have, then agree hourly work at our standard rates to bring it up to scratch.

Do you work outside of Sydney?

Yes. Most of our work is remote, so we can support clients anywhere in Australia. For AI workshops and presentations, we’ll fly anywhere in Australia, New Zealand or internationally, with travel quoted with your booking. Onsite I.T. work is around Greater Sydney.
